A letter to the customers I see every day who are trying to start a new blog/website and make money, but don’t know how to start.
Starting a blog or website to make money online? It’s not going to magically happen with ads. Sorry. That era is long gone.
If you want to make real money with ads, you need hundreds of thousands or millions of page views. Ads are not going to provide meaningful income with your website. Don’t expect to make money with ads.
If you want to make money with other methods, you don’t need as many views. Work on these things first – sponsored posts, affiliate marketing, etc. These can pay off much more quickly. Find a small tribe, who is willing to buy things you feature on your website. Focus on selling products or promoting products that matter to them.
Forget about ad revenue – it’s not going to be a meaningful income stream until you’re way down the road. You can put ads on your site, and it might bring you a little extra cash, but don’t plan on it making much money.
If you try to use only ads to make money, you’re going to be very disappointed when that first ad revenue report shows up, and it’s less than $10 for many thousands of page views. Use a different source.
